While we were traveling to visit my husband’s family I took portraits for my sister-in-law and brother-in-law and nieces and nephews. Our kids all had so much fun playing together and calling each other cousins. I wish we were closer, but I’m looking forward to when they will (hopefully!) be coming to Minnesota for a visit next spring. The kids will have grown so much by then I’ll probably barely recognize them.

I always make sure to photograph siblings separately during family sessions, so they can have photos of themselves as well as together, and I like to get the parents to be in a few with just the two of them. If you’re a parent, when is the last time you had professional portraits taken without your kids? Has it been as long ago as your wedding? I’m looking forward to having our family portraits done this fall, as well, and I will make sure to get a couple of just me and my husband.
