What better way to brighten a dreary December day than to look back on portraits taken in August? I photographed Elle in Northfield, MN for her senior portraits on a beautiful summer evening. She was incredible in front of the camera – such a gorgeous smile! Toward the end of her session we went to the soccer fields to photograph her in more dramatic light. She will be playing soccer for the University of Minnesota next year and wanted some senior pictures of her in some U of M gear! Loved the colors of the sky in those. Good luck with the rest of your senior year, Elle!

Elle – Northfield High School Senior, Class of 2012
Wednesday, December 28th, 2011Anna – Maple Grove Senior High School – Senior Portraits
Saturday, December 3rd, 2011Anna’s aunt is a friend of mine, and when I was looking for a model last year to be a guinea pig for portraits taken at the Minnesota State Fair, she offered her niece! Anna, her mom and Anna’s friend Mike met me at the fair and we had a fun night of photography among the crowds and lights. Fast forward to this year and Anna is a senior at Maple Grove Senior High school and needed her senior portraits done! It was so good to see them all again, they traveled to Northfield and we used one of my favorite fields as a background.
Best of luck, Anna, as you head into 2012 and your last year of high school!
Lauren, Cretin-Derham Hall Class of 2012 – St. Paul, MN Senior Portrait Photographer
Tuesday, November 15th, 2011I photographed Lauren on an absolutely beautiful evening in Minneapolis. She has an incredible, natural smile that just shined for the camera (not even a Segway tour going on twenty feet from where we were working ruffled her!), and we were fortunate enough to capture some of fall’s last glorious color. Thank you, Lauren, for choosing me for your senior portraits, best of luck the rest of the year!
Lauren and Indigo – Northfield, MN Senior Pictures
Sunday, November 6th, 2011This year has brought me opportunities to create some very personal senior portraits for clients. I love when they incorporate something they are passionate about into their sessions. When Lauren’s mom contacted me about the session she asked if I would be willing to photograph Lauren with her beloved horse, Indigo. I told her I had never photographed a horse before, but I was up for trying, so we met at the stables and we had a great time. Lauren is amazing with Indigo, it was fun to watch her interact with him. The property turned out to be a fabulous location for portraits, as well, many options. Here are some of Lauren’s favorites from her senior picture session!
The sky offered us some dark clouds and the wind was picking up, so we took the opportunity to create a more dramatic portrait using flash, with the sky prominent and some blowing hair. Love it!
