About Salina J Photography
Hi! My name is Salina, and I am a photographer working in the Minneapolis/St. Paul and southern Minnesota areas. I enjoy meeting new people, and luckily for me, my profession allows me to do that every week, whether I am photographing a newborn, baby, child, family or creating senior pictures. This blog showcases my recent photography, and will help you get to know me and my style of portraits a little better. I am based out of Northfield, but work on-location throughout the Twin Cities (and beyond) or in my studio in Burnsville. I work with my clients to choose the right locations, times and wardrobe pieces to ensure their portraits are beautiful and true reflections of who they are.
Before the first snowfall of the winter, I met up with Andrea and Ryan in Northfield to take their engagement portraits. Andrea and Ryan are getting married in San Diego next month, and I’m so excited to be photographing their wedding, as well! Their love was evident that night we had their session. Best wishes for a long and happy marriage, Andrea and Ryan!
I recently photographed the new children’s resale and boutique shop, Mother Goose of Northfield, for owners Shahar and Jesse. Mother Goose of Northfield is located at 801 Division Street.
They carry both used and new baby and children’s clothing, plus toys and gear associated with raising little ones. Stop in and say hello if you haven’t been yet – while you’re there you can see some examples of my work hanging on the walls!
Local Northfield author and blogger Shannon Hyland-Tassava came to my studio in Burnsville recently for head shots to use as she promotes her newly published book, The Essential Stay-at-Home Mom Manual: How to Have a Wondrous Life Amidst Kids and Chaos.

Kristi and Ryan came to the studio the day before Thanksgiving for maternity portraits, so that they could document the time leading up to the birth of their first baby. Kristi looked amazing, and it was wonderful to get Ryan into some of the portraits, as well. Dads may not carry the babies in their bodies, but they’re just as excited to meet the new little ones. While all of her portraits were gorgeous, I especially loved the dramatically-lit ones we created at the end of the session.
Kristi and Ryan’s baby is here and we already did the newborn session, but those images will be coming later!
