Senior portraits are among my favorite sessions to photograph – the soon-to-be-seniors always look incredible and are excited about their pictures. When I arrived at Kenzie’s (Chanhassen High School class of 2012) house and she and her mom informed me they had a field of wildflowers, I was even happier. What an amazing setting! And Kenzie was a natural in front of the camera, she’s got a great sense of humor and a gorgeous smile. Best of luck to her as she starts her senior year!

A Field of Daisies – Burnsville, MN Senior Pictures
Thursday, August 4th, 2011Taylor – Northfield, MN Senior Portrait Photography Studio
Tuesday, May 17th, 2011This is Taylor, a high school senior who drove all the way to my studio in Burnsville from little Rockford, MN to act as a model for me so I could experiment with more lighting set ups. He was very enthusiastic and outgoing, and would dance a little in between takes, then put on his serious face when the camera came back up to my eyes. Thanks, Taylor! When I photograph people, most often their portraits are in color, but with the lighting in these I really preferred them in black and white.

Derek – Apple Valley, MN Senior Portrait Photographer
Monday, January 31st, 2011Derek is a 2011 high school senior at Apple Valley, and he squeaked in for his senior portraits last fall before his yearbook deadline. The session was so much fun – lots of locations, and his stepmom gave me many suggestions for poses. They liked the natural light portraits, but both really wanted some more dramatically-lit photographs with off-camera flash, so we shot until well after dark to capture the looks they were aiming for.
Good luck, Derek, as you approach graduation!
