Julia – St. Paul, MN Senior Pictures

Tuesday, June 11th, 2013

Julia attends a small private high school in St. Paul. We lucked out for her session held in late April – our beautiful, warm day was tucked in between some cold and less-than-gorgeous evenings. Here are some of the favorites from Julia’s session. Are you searching for a photographer for your senior pics, class of 2014? Contact me today to talk about details, then we’ll get you on the calendar! I have some exciting specials and offers for this summer and fall.

Be Mine – Valentine’s Mini Sessions – Lakeville, MN Photographer

Sunday, January 13th, 2013

I am so happy to announce the dates of my first mini sessions of 2013 – the “Be Mine” Valentine’s Day mini sessions to be held January 25 and 27 at my studio in Burnsville, Minnesota. So wherever you live in the Minneapolis and St. Paul Twin Cities area, you’ll be able to get to my location easily! My studio has a big parking lot and elevator access to my floor in case you’re pushing a stroller (or just have kids who really like pushing the elevator buttons).

I have some Valentine’s-themed backdrops and set ups for your children, but if you’re not into red or hearts, I can also use something simpler. Mini sessions are a great way to update your kids’ portraits, create gifts for family and classmates or just to get your first taste of custom photography at a very special price point not offered with my full sessions.

Mini sessions are for children (siblings) only. Expect 25 minutes of time photographing the kids and a gallery with at least 10 images. You’ll also have the opportunity to purchase fun add-ons like custom Valentine’s Day cards or mini albums and I’ll be sure to have some special treats available, as well.

Openings for these mini sessions are limited so call me at 612-567-3129 or email me at salina@salinajphotography.com today to book yours! I look forward to meeting you and your little sweethearts.

Quinn, 8 Months – Richfield, MN Baby Photographer

Little Quinn’s mom brought him into the studio this summer, and what an expressive baby he turned out to be! I was laughing at his looks, and he kept his mom busy by showing off his new crawling skills.

Here’s adorable Quinn!

A Mother’s Day Surprise – Lakeville, MN Family Photographer

Wednesday, June 27th, 2012

This spring I was contacted by a father who wanted to surprise his wife with portraits of their two children for Mother’s Day. We booked them for a session at my studio in Burnsville and they arrived ready for the camera, and ready to not say a word to their mom.

We had a great time at the session. Emily and Blake did normal sibling things like poke at each other and make faces to try to get the other to laugh, but we also capture some sweet images of them acting like they truly like each other (you could tell they do).

When I arrived at Matt and Michelle’s home, Michelle still had no idea about the portraits. I walked in with my laptop and huge portfolio full of samples and she looked from me to her husband and back at me. “So, do you do this work for a living?” she asked as she eyed my art case, still unopened.

We sat at the kitchen table and I started up my laptop. “What IS this?” she asked Matt, a smile on her face. When the slideshow with her kids’ portraits started to play, she brought her hand to her mouth and said, “Oh!” Yes, a few tears were shed as she realized what her surprise gift had been. When you’re a photographer, seeing tears from a client can actually be a good thing!

I’m so glad I was able to be a part of this wonderful surprise for their family, and I look forward to doing portraits of everyone together next spring.

Two Princes and Now a Princess

Tuesday, May 8th, 2012

Still catching up with blogging sessions from, yes, last fall!

This sweet family came to the Burnsville studio for some portraits of all three kids (proud big brothers Tanner and Braxton with new little sister Kennedy) and also some portraits of Kennedy alone. Don’t these kids have the biggest, most beautiful eyes!

Such a pleasure to photograph them again, it’s fun to watch them grow up through pictures!
